Changed my settings- will the correct time stamp appear?

Does anybody really know what stamp appears? 
How did you do it? I can’t even use the search function without being logged out five frickin’ times.
And I just CHANGED it only to have it switch back every last time.
Does anybody really care? If so, I can’t imagine why.
