Testosterone changes during rut -- what can it be compared to?

It is my understanding that the testosterone level of a number of male ungulates rises dramatically during rut. I am curious what the change in levels could be compared to in a human. Is it an increase similar to what one could expect from entering puberty? A moderate dose of anabolic steroids? A massive dose of steroids? I understand much depends on the animal in question and the dosage of steroids in question, but I am just after any information that can be offered…
