Texas Barack Obama voters: Please Read

I was hoping someone else would ask this question. I’m not a Democrat, so I’m not going to be too keen on sitting around debatin’ for three hours. I just want to support Senator Obama then make like a tree and get out of there.

The Obama campaign is telling us that you have to go and sign your name and then you are okay to leave. I am certain they wouldn’t have us tell people this if it wasn’t all that was required.

Be careful who you ask this question of, however. I went to a “open house” party on Saturday and someone asked this question. A woman who was clearly a political junkie launched into this long speech about subcaucus’s and debates, and how the whole thing would last only “about an hour and a half.” I could see the questioner’s face go blank.

Here is the info directly from the Texas for OBama website.

Wow. I’m glad I started this thread. And bumped it.

True. The full quote from the linked page is:

(bolding mine) So yeah, you can leave, but you don’t want Obama’s delegate slots to go unfilled. If the caucus is well-attended, you probably don’t need to worry.

Just a final bump. If you are in precinct 248, come out and say hello to me. I’m the guy who looks like Jerry Garcia, out in front of Burnet Middle School.
