This is actually one of my pet peeves. Besides the texting, it’s people who wait until the checkout person has rung up all their groceries, and THEN they fish in their purse/pants for their wallet. And if they’re writing a check, it’s at that point that they ask to borrow a pen so they can fill it out. :smack: It’s almost like they’re unprepared to be asked to pay for the groceries at the end of the checkout process. Did they think that today everything would be free? Who knows?
while at the movies. Not during previews, during the actual movie. Every 5 mins or so, BLINDING LIGHT little miss or mister can’t be out of contact for any longer whips his/her phone out. Next time stay home and rent a movie, assholes. Not only will you stop annoying the people actually there to see the movie (amazing) but it will also be cheaper for you to rent the movie you aren’t watching it than go to the theater and not watch it.
I’ve also seen texting and driving, within the last month. The worst thing is, due to these douchenozzles, the TV is full of annoying “don’t text and drive” shit I have to sit there and see. The buttmunches doing this aren’t going to stop no matter how many PSA’s you run, stop it.
For people whispering in theaters, I do the Seinfeld “I gave him the half turn. Then I gave him the full turn with eyeroll. What else could I do?” For cell phones, though, I have no problem saying clearly out loud “Could you please put that away? Thank you”. I have the preview PSA backing me up! 
I’ve wondered that myself. But the people who go crazy doing the “credit card shuffle” drive me crazy. Find the damn card before getting on line.
There’s also people who will put their basket on the counter while they are texting, and expect you to empty it and ring up their purchases while they are too busy texting.
I’ve seen a solution proposed in the form of a government program to allow people to travel safely while texting.
