Thai person visiting US

Hi. I have a Thai national I’d live to host in California. I guess a Visa is required for her to get here. But googling is taking me to Thai visas for Americans, the opposite problem.

Does anyone know how to get my Thai friend a visa to visit the United States?

Thanks in advance.

Search for US embassy in Bangkok. They Williams have the procedure on their website.

You don’t get a visa for your friend… He gets it for himself.
The process starts at the US Embassy in the foreign country.

(disclaimer: I’ve never been to Thailand. I am speaking from experience on the other side of the globe. But I think the procedures are the same.)

She needs to go to the us embassy in Bangkok, fill out the form, submit the photos, pay the fee, show ID, then wait till it’s processed. It’s not hard, just takes a little time etc.

Recommend she get traveler health insurance to cover any unexpected injuries or illness during her visit. Accidents happen and they can get expensive for tourists. Family of Korean hospitalized after fall at Grand Canyon seeks financial help

It’s pretty difficult, as I understand it, for Thai nationals to get US visas. In addition to a high application fee (5000 baht/$170 IIRC), they have to show a significant amount of money (50,000 baht) in the bank and other ties to Thailand that are designed to ensure their prompt return.
