Thank You, eBay Motors (An Anti-Pitting)

Three months: that’s how long I’ve been making insurance payments on this car, and the only reason it was insured was to keep it legal. It’s not like I was driving it – every few weeks I’d move it a few spaces down the street, just so it wouldn’t grow roots into the pavement.

“For Sale” signs in the windows, as well as flyers listing all the details – a new Craigslist listing every week or two – an ad in the Auto Shopper – all got us nothing. Two or three “hey, can I come see the car?” calls, but none that actually…you know…came to look at the fricking car.

Then we see eBay Motors was having a special. Instead of their “$40 for a one-week listing, no matter if it sells or not”, they were doing it as “no charge to list, but if it sells, we get fifty bucks”. Hey, that’d be fine with me – we’re only a couple days away from having to make yet another damn insurance payment on it.

48 hours: that’s how long it was from placing the ad until this afternoon, when I now have 35 crisp $100 bills in my pocket.

Thanks much, eBay Motors – good job.

Woohoo!! Drinks on Hal!!
