I just found out my score tonight, and it’s pretty good. Should help get me into the law school of my choice. So everyone who helped on the LSAT question thread: I appreciate it.
I told everyone what I got, and it was pretty fucking good. And knowing the schools on your list, you must have scored better than me (or you have a stellar GPA, or for all I know both) in order to think you could get in. So let us know how you did! I want numbers, damn it!
Congratulations!!
Congrats! Though you might not be feeling the same way when you’re studying for first year exams. Bwa-ha-ha!
Drain: I got a 173. According to the conversion table I have, this means that I got 92 right out of 101 questions. Which kinda cheeses me off, because had I gotten 93 right, I would’ve had a 174. Etcetera. Of course, I should probably look at it the other way–for each additional question I missed, I would’ve gone down a point or two. So, all things being considered, I’m happy with where I am.
Now I’ve just got to finish crafting that damnable personal statement, and my applications will all be in the mail next week…
(2nd Law: Ah, but I’ve read Planet Law School. I’m gonna be hitting the books well before my first year even starts! :D)
The wierd thing about law school is that you’ll learn something on Monday that makes you totally re-evaluate the reading for Tuesday. Everything seems to be built on what has come before. Which is to say, at least for me, reading a week ahead of where the class was turned out to be a waste of time.
My suggestion would be to enjoy yourself before you go to law school, you’ll be busy enough when classes start regardless.
Awesome! You should have no trouble getting into just about anywhere…
For shits and giggles once, I was playing around with the LSACD, and typed in that I had a 4.0 GPA and got a 180 (the best possible score, for those of you who don’t know the scale) on the LSAT. Then I checked my probability of getting into certain schools. Turns out that even with a perfect GPA and perfect LSAT, I STILL only had a 75% chance of getting into Yale.
With my perfectly respectable 3.55 GPA (the best part of which came in the last 3 years, so I’ve got that nice upward trend to bank on, too) and 167 on the LSAT (which is 96th freakin’ percentile, for God’s sake), I’d basically have to fellate the admissions board to get into Yale. I at least have something like a 10% chance of getting into Harvard (which prompted Satan to say “Just send 10 applications!”…Everyone’s a comedian), but Yale is absolutely freakin’ impossible. And it probably would be even if I were perfect, because thanks to having to work while I was in college, I’m pretty weak on the extracurriculars and volunteer work. Yeesh.
Mine are all ready to go out–I just have to get the money to write the applications fees. $420. Yeesh.
And it’s only gonna get worse.
Well, Gadarene, I didn’t post to your LSAT question thread, but I did want to congratulate both you and Drain Bead on your great scores!
See, I have to suck up to you guys. I’m a paralegal, and if you come to my firm, I’ll have to be your slave…I mean, “assistant”.
Hey, Gadarene, congrats on doing good on the test. How long before we know what school we got into. You know we all want to vicariously “do” law school with you. From reading some of your posts on the LSAT thread I knew you would do very well. I also have no doubt you will do well at school.
