Didn’t ski today. Very windy. Watched a bunch of TV in the background and tried to get the house a little cleaner. But no. TCM had a Bette Davis marathon going.
I’m in love with her. 90 years ago. I have a deeper understanding of the Kim Carnes hit song, however.
She was stunning!
Bette’s the bomb(shell)
I love her.
Love all those movies today.
I was there with you, when awake.
“let’s not ask for the moon, we have the stars”
Best line ever!
Don’t do that to yourself, Gato, it can only lead to heartbreak.
She’ll never leave Paul Henreid and we know it.
Carole Lombard does it for me.
I had Foo Fighters Everlong at 136db trying to drown out Dave’s Trump radio from next door.
I won.
I’m also a big fan of her. I’ve been to her crash site. Damn good motorcycle ride!
I’m a big Bette Davis fan. I think one comes down on the side of one of the two biggest dramatic actresses of the thirties: Bette Davis or Joan Crawford. Joan never did it for me.
My favorite Bette Davis movie is The Little Foxes. Warning: if you don’t want to see her being a selfish bitch, don’t watch it. But it’s a stunning film.
Or All About Eve. Even though her character was ultimately proven right, jeez was she intolerable.
Watch Jezebel if you want to see how she would’ve played Scarlett O’Hara, had she gotten the part.
My “love” is Louise Brooks. There’s just something about her. Watch Pandora’s Box, and see if you agree.
