That Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon-Is He Really Good?

I heard that this guy isn’t board certified! If so, how come he does so many boob jobs? My question: in a world where vanity rules, I am not surprised that this guy is raking in bucks-but are there any long-term bad effects to cosmetic surgery? Like when these women get old and saggy-what happens to those silicone -filled bags?
Plus, this guy does operations in his office-is that really safe to do? what if the patient has a cardiac arrest on the table-can he handle this in his office/clinic?From what I see, the guy is pretty reckless!

Can I buy a vowel here, Vanna? Or maybe a link.
Which plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills? You do realize that in BH you can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a plastic surgeon. Or three.

He probably talking about Dr. Rey who is the most often featured doctor on E’s Dr. 90210.

I don’t know much about it but it does seem like a lot of his boob jobs look better than some of the other ones featured although too big. He always talks them into going larger. But they do hang more nicely (i.e. don’t look like grapefruit bolted on) compared to some fo the other surgeons.

Mercifully I’ve wrenched myself away from watching this show (it’s one of those so awful I can’t look away car-wreck shows) and, while I find Dr Rey to be almost unbearably creepy, I have to take issue with the notion that he always talks his patients into getting larger implants. He tries to be sure that his patients get implants that are an appropriate size for their frame.

Is it really ethical to do major surgery on somebody in an office? Like I say, what if something goes wrong? He (Dr. Rey) has no emergency staff to fall back on-what if somebody was to die? And, the whole silicone breast implants-just after trial lawyers won billions from Dow Corning (for alleged health effects of leaking boob implants)-just seems crazy to me!

That one I can answer from experience: yes, it can be normal and ethical to perform some procedures in the doctor’s office.

Now I can only talk about Florida since that’s the only place where I’ve known doctors who do that kind of thing but they had professional nurses, professional anesthesiologists, a sterile operating room, a complete crash cart standing by, and the nearest hospital was aware that the procedure was going on so they could transfer the patient in minutes if something went really wrong.

I would hope that in California they have similar regulations regarding these things.

A friend of mine just had her tummy tuck done by that guy, but I don’t know if he did it in the office. I will ask her.

Very nice work, BTW.

And silicone breast implants are still widely used- they feel much softer and more natural than saline implants. IIRC, a woman has to go with saline first, then after a few years she can switch to silicone.
