We have found a sort of semi-liquid treat called lick-e-licks by Webbox which our cats absolutely love; makes it easy to get meds into them by mixing it.
This is a UK thing, mind you, but perhaps it (or something similar) is available in the US? Maybe from Amazon?
Hey, maybe his medication wasn’t the problem after all! Could be he just doesn’t care for his moist food being turned to “soup”; seems to be eating fine if we don’t add water.
Great to see that he’s eating!
Oddly enough, ours (some now departed, alas) seemed to prefer dry food to wet?
All you can do is try a variety…?
Easypill, cat version:
Some bad news.
One of his recent stools is redder than normal so now he’s occasionally leaking blood out of both ends. 4 January might be his final to the trip to the vet.
Glad you are following up on it.
He’s not going to make another week. ![]()
Feed him anything he wants to eat, and hug him (if he likes hugs).
But you’re already doing that.
Took him in right after my last post.
He was throwing up foam everywhere, which probably had something to do with being unable to hold his urine. Six times in three hours: three times at home, three times in the carrier. White at first but, when we got the empty carrier home, we noticed that the last of the foam was green.
You obviously made the best choice. I’m sorry.
It never get easy, and it has to be done.
I’m sorry.
That is such a sad phrase. Reminds me of our Shelly who we lost a few months ago.
All we can do is give them the best care we can. They don’t live as long as us, usually…
I’m sorry for your loss. It can be a hollow feeling, but from here it sure sounds like you did your very best for him.
I am sorry for your loss. May you retain many happy memories.
That’s what I thought when I read that.
I’m very sorry for your loss. It does really seem to have been time; and you did your best for him, both in his illness and throughout his life.
Y’all probably noticed that I’ve been avoiding this thread.
Thanks for the posts.
Hugs for everyone.
At least we still have one relatively healthy kitty, now able to roam the rooms without fear of being ambushed and trapped in a corner.
Mantra for such situations:
I shall pat
The living cat.
– hope that doesn’t come off wrong. But it has helped me.
The essence of Cat remains in the world. I’m glad you still have a representative in your house.
