Especially the middle sections, which are more on the order of sprightly and celebratory.
Ohhhhhhhhhhh, yesssssssssssssssssssssssss!
I have a theory that the Imperial March is based on Chopin’s Funeral March.
I think it was the same guy who wrote “The Worms Crawl In, The Worms Crawl Out” and “Great Green Gobs of Greasy, Grimy Gopher Guts.” Him or Karl Jung …
Williams is a talented composer, but he does borrow an awful lot…
The correct words for the Chopin Funeral March (at least as I learned them as a kid) are* “Pray for the dead, and the dead will pray for you…”*

I was not very familiar with it but Chopin’s funeral march is one depressing piece of music. I was in perfectly good spirits before I clicked the link but now it is probably for the best that I don’t have a loaded shotgun handy. Brilliant!
Does anyone know what qualities make that particular piece so sad? Most slow piano pieces don’t have that quality.
:smack: I thought I was replying in the new thread, but it linked to this one. Urg.
