A few years back,the Russians orbited a giant mirror-it was (I believe) a sheet of aluminized plastic. This was unfurled to form a giant mirro-the idea was to catch the sun’s rays, and reflect the light down to the surface (which was in darkness). Was the experiemnt successful? Willwe see thois concept used? It would be cool to light up a major city at night, using such a mirror-how big would such a mirror need to be, to light up NY City (so we could watcgh the Red Sox beat the Yankees, at11:00 PM)?
