That I knew about, as well as the (many, many) logistics problems with the scenario. To me, it’s about as likely as me bonking Denise Richards (oh please, please, please !).

Still, I wonder - Holywood writers may be… at odds with reality, but their clichés never spring from thin air, so… to me, it has to come from somewhere, somehow. My best guess would be WW2 POWs or paratroopers nicking German uniforms to get back to England (i.e. Colditz), or maybe the US Civil War equivalent.
