That’s so cyberpunk

It’s a well known fact that we are currently living in the dystopian future. Occasionally (constantly), the news reminds me of this. The short-lived Alliance of American Football and their plan to have a summer football league and monetize it by offering app based real-time gambling, allowing people to bet on plays as they happen, and wiring the players with heart monitors so their exertion and fatigue levels could by monitored by viewers- that’s just so cyberpunk.

Why don’t baseball players’ uniforms have sensors in the elbows and knees–coupled with laser readers in the home plate–so there would be no doubt about calling strikes?
