That's it, job, the gloves are coming off now...

I’ve had it with my “job”. They want 40 hours of work done in my 24 scheduled hours each week, they want intermediate level accounting done on my general office clerk salary, they want me to take on 16 more hours of work each week that I’ll be completely responsible for (they figure the four hours someone else is doing for me in exchange will make room for it), they’re four months late for my annual review (which is when the raises get handed out) and now, the coup de grace, the grand finale, the whole enchilada, the full monty - they want me to let all my assigned tasks slide for two weeks while I cover my much-better paid co-worker’s desk for her vacation. They can bite my rosy pink ass, is what they can do.

I don’t even freakin’ get sick pay! I took had ONE sick day in the 16 months I’ve been working there, and they freakin’ docked me for it! I have no benefits, the vacation pay that I used to get on each cheque is now being withheld from me since we changed payroll to Toronto, and my useless tit of a supervisor just keeps piling it on, piling it on.

I talked to the UTs supervisor, and he said I should have a performance review, and suggested this Thursday for it. If it doesn’t happen on Thursday and I have to keep pushing for one, I am WALKING OUT THE FREAKIN’ DOOR. This was supposed to be a no-stress, easygoing part-time job. When did they start thinking that I was supposed to be working at a Chartered Accountant level for $11 an hour?

Your job sucks. Just remember to keep doing your job searches on cmpany time.

Your husband is right. Your job sucks.

And he’s also right—keep doing those job searches while you’re on the clock!

It seems like the crappier the job, the more shit they pile on you. Isn’t that always the way?

Yeesh.

It’s all so clear now, yosemite - crappy job, piled on shit! Why didn’t I see it sooner?

Well, off to work to do some more job searching. My resumes come out really nicely on the laser printer, too.

One thing you have going for you, you seem empowered. You are doing the work of 2 people in half the time. If it were me in your shoes I’d walk in tomorrow, demand your review and raise retroactively in light of the work you have been doing, and then explain to your boss that it is no more ok for him/her to be late giving you reviews and raises than it would be for you to complete your assignments that way. Tell him from now on your level of work will be directly proportional to the way you are being treated. They’ll either come around or let you go in which case you can find another job that WILL treat you right.
