The 12th Annual Doobie Brothers Smoke The Steelers To The Super Bowl Thread

No, it’s mockery.

NFL is trying to make everyone feel bad about feeling good about the Browns with Cancer Girl.

I’m having a good time.

What an overachieving group of limited talent receivers.

Kyle Shanahan for world emporer.

You realize that if the Browns win they’ll be in second, mathematically tied for first (until the Steelers devastate the Jets on Sunday). In Week 9.

The Browns defense has been playing massively better since they started this season, but it seems like mostly Dalton meltdown. I guess it can be both. Either way, continuous erection.

Even when the Browns score they go Full Cleveland. This game is a comedy of errors.

Remember when the Bengals started hot and everyone thought they were the best team in the NFL?

Losing control of the ball after breaking the plane isn’t really an error. You make a calculated risk to expose the ball because as long as you can extend your arms and break the plane it’s going to be a TD. It’s not like they’re doing normal ball security at that point.

I know, but West calculated the risk with a bit too much precision. Fortunately the Bengals are playing like, well, the Bengals. maybe they can put Akili Smith in under center, he couldn’t be worse than the Red Rocket is tonight.

Seemed to me that he got the ball at least a foot over the plane.

Did you see the running back called for a facemask? I thought when you were the ball carrier you literally couldn’t commit a facemask even if you twisted a guy’s head off.

Andy Dalton wilting in a big game? You don’t say…

6 years, 115 million.

The Browns are, at worst, 6-4 when they get Gordon back. This team is overachieving all to fuck. They have no receiving corps at all, and then the best two remaining weapons of that were out tonight. They’re playing washed up, injured, and UDFA guys, and they’ve got one of the best big play offenses in the NFL. With a not especially talented Brian Hoyer driving the whole show.

The defense stepped up amazingly well today. The coverage was there all game - there was not a single pass attempted against an open receiver, there was always a Browns player in on the coverage. The secondary was just amazing.

I did not expect any of that. I thought maybe we overachieved early on, had an easy schedule, and we’d wilt against the tougher competition. Not yet. Next up - a Ryan Mallett lead Texans.

Yes.

crickets

The silence is deafening. I understand, I wouldn’t want to own that performance either. Dalton’s QB rating was lower than the number of picks he threw, and he was replaced by Jason Campbell. Sure is living up to that monster contract, I’ll tell you.

That was the worst performance I’ve ever seen at QB/OL/DEF in a long, long time.

And now I’m stuck with the guy. For at least until the end of next year. I’m through with Dalton. He absolutely sucks. He overthrew so many receivers it was INSANE. If I was AJ Green I’d just walk up to him and punch him in the face, repeatedly.

Also, please shitcan Marvin Lewis. He’s done.

Wow, what a clusterfuck from 3-0 and a discussion about potentially being “the best team in the league” to what I have now. A handful of shit. Christ.

:frowning:

Today the Steelers are at the Jets. Ben needs 4 touchdowns to set the 3-game record currently held by Peyton Manning. As bad as the Jets are he should go for 600 yards and 8 touchdowns. But he won’t.

No, he’ll go for 180 and 3 picks, and the game will either be really close or a soul-crushing loss. You see, folks, my beloved Steelers do not reciprocate that love by blowing out bottom feeders, instead they blow games that they should win in the worst way possible.

Wait, what am I saying? The Steelers are going to crush the Jests and end Rex Ryan’s tenure there. Steelers by 21.

I can’t ask for a perfect week by having both the rats and the Steelers lose, but either one of those things would make me pretty happy.

You should be ecstatic no matter what. The Browns are relevant in Week 10. Repeat, the Browns are relevant in Week 10.

No matter how many times I say that it still seems impossible, but it’s true.

Man, I miss the old AFC Central

The only thing I miss more is Seattle not being in the AFC West. Or in the AFC at all.

I think Big Ben will rock once more today. But, I just don’t see the rest of this year’s team keeping up the pace the rest of the season. I could be wrong. Your division’s playoff picture sure is interesting right now

Good start. Steelers just got burned by Vick, and the Titans might’ve gotten screwed out of a TD, but they’re driving decently again.

Well, I called this.

Well, you kind of called everything except a narrow Steelers victory.
