The 15 boxes of classified documents taken by DOJ from Trump's Mar-a-Lago

Modnote: In the future please make both the Title more descriptive and include some actual information in your OP.

I’ll modify the title.

If it was any other presidency I’d agree. Norms of behavior go out the window with these people.

Absolutely. However, the facts seem to consist of “15 boxes of classified documents existed at Maralago months after there should have been no classified documents at Maralago”. That’s it. I think if there was more to the story the reporting would have reflected that with more specifics.

Not that I don’t think Trump is capable of doing the latter, I just think the details of the story would be different if he had in this case.

And I’m deeply frustrated with the news that reports the later as fact when as far as I can tell there’s several possibilities.

I wouldn’t be surprised that, given Trump’s habit of taking documents to the private quarters, and his demonstrated indifference to any required handling procedures, these were simply what he had hauled up there and not returned, which were packed up with everything else during the rushed process of evicting him from the White House after all his attempts to stay failed.

I’d never heard of that. What would he do with them there- he wouldn’t even read his daily briefs, and those were, aiui, dumbed down.

Flush them down the toilet, apparently.

Why cant he simply burn the papers, if he want them gone or hidden? He could justify the absense of papers by saying they were stolen (by democrats) or some other great excuse?

Trying to hide things isn’t the only reason he might have absconded with classified documents. He could also have taken them with the intent to sell them.

Who know how many of his “guests” might have had access to them. I think that there’s supposed to be a secure way to store classified documents. Did Mara Lardo have a secure facility?

yes

Is he making them sit on dining room chairs?
