Afraid the Hawks will win this one, going away most likely.
Leights is solid with good D, sucky with bad D(having seen him with bad D in Carolina)Touching the Prince of Wales Trophy is worse than the Hossa Curse. Blackhawks in 5!
I’m calling Hawks in sweep too. I’ll tabulate the scores later(yours too quint).
Hawks in five for the cup. Philly should be able to win one.
Except that Crosby did it last year.
I still think the Hawks will win though, in six.
B-Hawks in 5.
I’ll join in with the Hawks in five.
Steve Yzerman has ended his 27-year association with the Detroit Red Wings, and is now the new GM in Tampa Bay.
And Jiri Hudler is returning to the wings for the next two seasons. Welcome back Happy Hudler.
I’m just unhappy that I have to root for Chicago. I’d much rather fail to get to see Hossa go 0 for 3 than I would want to have to watch the Flyers win it. Goddamn Flyers.
Steve Yzerman is the poster child for everything that is great in professional sports. I cannot think of an individual who is more respected and revered.
OK, Wayne too.

That’s the great thing about this final. Either a really good hockey city wins the cup, or we get to see Marion Hossa be the bridesmaid again which has to be funny to everyone.
Has any player ever visited three consecutive cup finals with three different teams? Pretty amazing. I bet the Hawks get some ridiculous trade offers for Hossa next year…unless he loses again.
What happens if both teams touch their respective conference trophies? Can they both lose?
There was a genius (not really) on Vancouver radio last summer who said that the Canucks shouldn’t pursue Marian Hossa because it is way to statistically unlikely for the same player to make the finals in three consecutive years with three different teams. He figured any team that signed Hossa wouldn’t make the finals because they’d be bucking those astronomical odds. Like I said, a genius.
If the Sharks decide to keep Nabokov instead of Marleau (both free agents), maybe they’ll pursue Hossa, just to get into the finals.
What’s funny is that Sid didn’t touch it in 2008, and we lost the Cup to the Red Wings. The next year Sid DID touch it – and we won.
I think the unwritten rule is that if you have already won the Prince of Wales Trophy(East) or the Clarence Campbell Bowl(West) once, you may pick it up if you win it again.
Personally though, I think the “curse” is poppycock. Especially if you win the series at home. Pick the damn thing up.
What he didn’t realize is that, before the season started, Hossa’s chance to return to the finals, however unlikely, was greater than Vancouver’s chance to get to the finals.
