EpicMix is disabled this season.
I’m using an app on my iPhone called Ski Tracks.

EpicMix is disabled this season.
No, it’s working. They just disabled the pins you can get for various accomplishments or going on certain days, etc. However, it only works at the Vail resorts that have the readers installed.
For me, that includes Okemo, Mount Sunapee, and Stowe, but not Mount Snow, Attitash, or Crotched Mountain.
Plus I went to some non-Vail resorts here in New England like Sunday River, Sugarloaf, and Bretton Woods.
So while my Ski Tracks app now has me at something like 550K vertical feet, the EpicMix app only has me at 160K vertical feet for the current season, which covers 9 days out of the 29 days I’ve skied this season.
Huh. I can’t get any joy from the Epic Mix. Oh well. I did about 3 hours of Face-Time and figured I racked up a big ol’ bunch of Vertical. Little Dipper was Sublime today. A really good ski day.
Last weekend, I drove up to Stowe in Vermont. Definite spring conditions. High was supposed to be 58 degrees but felt more like mid-70s with the blazing sun. Every time in line I had to remove my jacket and helmet to keep from overheating. Finally took a break in the car for lunch, and switched to a T-shirt and windbreaker, took off my ski pants, and switched to shorts. No gloves. Did keep the helmet and googles. Then skied an amazingly fun trail (Nosedive) from the top. Weird feeling snow thrown up on the turns on my bare legs.
Just got back from a second trip this season to Sugarloaf in Maine. I had very low expectations for early April snow conditions in New England, but conditions were nearly perfect, especially on the upper mountain. There was plenty of coverage on the open trails, and crowds were low. It was reggae weekend, so the vibe was fun.
This marked days 30 and 31 for me on the slopes this season, so it’s been a great ski season for me. I’ve gotten much better this year, and ended the season skiing blacks and double blacks from the top of Sugarloaf with no issues whatsoever—not just surviving but skiing well and having fun. I’m also dealing much better with bumps, at least the soft ones anyway. This will probably be it for me this season, unless I decide to go back to Maine next weekend.
P.S. I already bought my Epic Pass for next season. Here’s to a great 2021-22 ski season!
