Headline currently while we wait for disclosure of the identity, people are cheering the announcement that “we have a new pope.” What is there to cheer about? We knew it would happen. They don’t know who it is yet. Why “relief?” Were they worried that for the first time in 2000 years we wouldn’t get a pope?

True, although the version I’m looking at right now has a picture of Cardinal Parolin. For a few minutes, it was titled “Pope Leo XIIV,” which is not a valid Roman numeral.
