Best film editing goes to One Battle After Another.
Guardian announced it before the show did.
Best Cinematography goes to Sinners.
And just as I yawned over the awards, Sinners wins Cinematography. Maybe a precursor to the tight Best Picture race? (Sinners is the underdog)
Though, Sinners was the second most likely on the odds sites.
They’re singing the Best Song winner now. (really- if Sinners wins Best Song, it will be a significant precursor in the best picture race!)
And…the audience is waving light wands in time…
Best international feature film is Sentimental Value.
It’s between those two by all signs.
Yes, but Golden is a massive favorite. As I said in my picks:
Will this be the 18th loss for Diane Warren? Not that I’m keeping track. ETA: 17th.
Best original song is Golden… From K-pop Demon Hunters.
And so it is…
And OK it’s not my imagination they ARE letting some talk longer than others.
I kinda liked the Diane Warren song better.
But Ejae has a truly heartwarming backstory, so I’m happy.
I mean, if a team of songwriters is going to win the first Oscar for a KPop song, Teddy Park feels inevitable.
Paul Thomas Anderson gets Best Director for OBAA.
Excellent, and so well deserved, although I guess that scuttles its chances at Best Picture.
Paul Thomas Anderson wins Best Director.
The remaining categories (Actor/Actress/Picture) are pretty locked down (IMHO)
Again, the Guardian announced “One Battle After Another” as the winner before the show did.
Maybe they got the inside scoop or something.
Okay, Adrien Brody making fun of himself last year is good.
We’re watching on delay. Someone in the room may be texting or even posting.
