The Mariana Trench was mentioned. Once. In the 20’s.
Don’t agree with the Damon Lindelof one, but then again, I loved every season of Lost , including the final episode.

Rysto, the page didn’t ask me to install anything. You may have a missing plugin.
From the link -
Jenny McCarthy
Charges: OK. Dr. Andrew Wakefield’s been revealed as a fraud and conman, and his study linking autism to the MMR vaccine was fully retracted by The Lancet. The “debate” is done, but this former Playboy Bunny is not. She initially believed her son Evan was an “Indigo child” (a creepy, Aryan wunderkind with telepathic powers), but after that didn’t pan out, she needed another equally plausible explanation for his condition and desperately latched onto the vaccine conspiracy. By convincing easily-duped moms that vaccines aren’t safe, she’s endangered their kids, compromised herd immunity and killed more Americans than terrorists have in the last nine years. And that’s not hyperbole.
Aggravating factor: “I did a lot of digging on my own, the ‘University of Google.’”
Sentence: Measles, mumps, rubella.
(Complete with link to the Jenny McCarthy Body Count site.)
Okay, that is practically word-for-word the things I’ve seen here - is the writer a Doper, by any chance?
Observations:
I suspect that the allegations are not 100% correct.
Some of the people that I have never heard of truly horrify me.
Phred Phelps didn’t make the list? Bullshit. Toss the whole thing in the Dumpster.
Raging on Fred Phelps is so 2009.

If you read down to the bottom, they mentioned that there were way more than 100 loathesome people and it was worthwhile to check previous lists for a full list. Also, as odious as Phelps is, 2010 wasn’t his banner year. But if you look at their 2007 list, you would find him winning the bronze…
Fred Phelps
Charges: Leads a picketing campaign so hyperoffensive that his Church is unanimously reviled by queers and Bible thumping homophobes alike. Along with daughter Shirley, will drag hate into the public spotlight wherever it might seem least helpful or appropriate as long as it garners his “cause” attention. Harasses widows of heterosexual soldiers at funerals because their beloved were employed by a government that does not stone fags. Torments loved ones of those murdered in anti-gay violence. Is almost definitely gay himself.
Exhibit A: He is such an effective, soul-sucking brainwasher that Fred’s granddaughter declines relationships because of her delusion that world will end in her lifetime.
Sentence: Finally comes out of closet and is immediately killed by his followers.

Definitely. Besides, being on the “50 Most Loathsome Americans” list is exactly the type of thing he wants. It’s best just to ignore this asshole and his cult/family of attention-whoring trolls.

“Is secretly gay” features in an alarming number of entries. Dunno what’s up with that.

What list are you reading? For 2010, I saw a grand total of “maybe one” in which they refer to Tucker Carlson, “He’s the kind of guy who ties sweaters around his shoulders and snorts when he laughs. And he’s definitely not gay!” I’m assuming this is because he is known to have physically assaulted a gay guy. Combined with the current meme that gay-hatred is a red flag that someone is a closet case. Add that to the coiffed hair and preppy dressing and you get what some would call a gay stereotype.

Good list (although Spy magazine did it much better). I do have to compliment them on having the whole list on a single page, rather than forcing us to wade through five or more pages just to jack up the page view count.

Yes, if this were Spy , we’d call these people “short-fingered vulgarians.”

Spy doesn’t exist anymore, but when it did, it was amazingly biting and funny.
Must admit this one does strike home:
Barack Obama
Charges: Outside of his promise to never end the pointless war in Afghanistan, his word has the integrity of Halliburton cement. Whether it was a “robust” public option, real net neutrality, importing prescription drugs, barring lobbyists from serving in the White House, meaningful Wall Street reform or ending the Bush tax cuts for the disgustingly wealthy, our President caved like the Metrodome under the weight of a bloated oligarchy. Most irksome, he seemed dignified doing it.
Aggravating factor: Authorized the assassination of Americans accused of terrorism.
Sentence: Primary challenge from the Rent is 2 Damn High guy.
Never heard of most of them, which is probably a good thing.

It was the 1960’s. Once. For twenty minutes.
This one’s been a long time a-comin’:
David Brooks
Charges: The Bernie Madoff of American letters, every tortured construct and inaccurate assumption ever set to print by this annoyingly self-described “Bourgeoisie Bohemian” is a fraudulent attempt to justify why his house is more expensive than yours. Brooks couldn’t even wait for the bodies to cool after the Haiti earthquake before writing about how useless it is to send money because those voodoo-lovin’ savages simply can’t be helped.
Aggravating factor: “It’s time to find self-confident local leaders who will create No Excuses countercultures in places like Haiti, surrounding people—maybe just in a neighborhood or a school—with middle-class assumptions, an achievement ethos and tough, measurable demands.”
Sentence: Buried under rubble; cholera.
Preach it, Beast!
