It might be interesting to also see the ages of each poster. The difference in these lists is pretty dramatic and I can’t help but wondering if it isn’t age-related.

Seriously, though, I’m actually baffled by the number of people who nominated Exotica. I saw it. I got really really bored. Was there a plot anywhere in that movie? I’ll admit, I nominated a few that are just fun movies and don’t have much by way of “greatness” (Can anyone say Independence Day?), but could someone tell me what makes Exotica qualify for your lists?
I regarded Exotica as being like a mystery. Not in the sense of trying to figure out who killed the vicar but in the sense of trying to figure out why the caharacters were acting the way they did. Even after you’ve seen the complete movie and some questions are answered, others remain unsolved for the viewer to answer for himself. That’s why this movie is a favorite of mine. Well, that and the schoolgirl stripper motif.
As for Wallace and Grommit, if it makes you feel better I’ll accept The Wrong Trousers as being a movie (although at 30 minutes I think that’s stretching the definition). But if you want A Grand Day Out or A Close Shave, then Gone with the Wind and Conan the Barbarian will have to go.
