The Abrahamic Curse & The Peace Process

In the news today, no one can escape hearing about the negotiations for peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians. That these peace discussions are going on is nothing new, but for the last fifteen years, those discussions have taken on a very dangerous twist!
“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:3
When the Lord called Father Abraham, he promised to bless him and also to make him a blessing. He promised that all nations of the earth would be blessed through him. There is the potential in Abraham and in his seed for all nations and individuals to bless them and be blessed, or to curse them and be cursed.
“I will gather all the nations, and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there On behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land”. Joel 3:2
This prophecy ultimately promises God’s retaliation against those who have taken the Jewish people from their land, or divided His land, the land He promised to Abraham, then Isaac, then Jacob, in the last days.
What is fascinating in this verse is the fact that not only will God execute His wrath on those nations that divide His land in the future, but that God has also been active in history dealing with the nations over this issue. Below is a list of nations that have scattered the Jewish people or divided the land of Israel, or both:
1.) Babylon 606-536 BC.
2.) Persia 536-333 BC.
3.) Greece 333-63 BC.
4.) Rome 63-312 AD.
5.) Byzantine 312-637 AD.
6.) Moslem 637-1099 AD.
7.) Crusaders 1099-1291 AD.
8.) Mamelukes 1291-1517 AD.
9.) Ottoman Turks 1517-1917 AD.
10.) Britain 1917-1948 AD.

Note: Germany could be listed here as well although they did not occupy Israel.
Each one of these nations committed the same mistake, persecuted the Jewish people of Israel, or divided the land, or both. Each one has suffered similar fate accordingly, either been completely defeated, or greatly reduced in prominence.
Currently, the USA has taken the lead among the nations in forcing Israel to give up land for peace. This policy basically started in the U.S. in 1991 when the U.S. State Department drafted the Madrid peace conference, a conference designed to force Israel to give up land for peace.
The conference was to begin on October 30, 1991. That same day, the largest storm in Atlantic history, formed off the coast of Nova Scotia and started moving westward. Recorded as one of the most powerful storms ever, it came ashore on the east coast on October 31, 2001. It damaged the entire east coast as it slammed 30 foot waves into then President George Bush’s home in Kennebunkport, Maine. As writer John McTernan put it in his book Israel, Blessing or the Curse, " America was put on notice by the Lord God of Israel".
The Madrid peace conference was to resume on August 23, 1992, again pressuring Israel to surrender land in exchange for peace. The same day, Hurricane Andrew slammed into southern Florida.
These type occurrences continued through the Clinton Administration and have resumed in the new Bush Administration. George Bush Jr. pledged to stay out of the peace, but shortly into his administration, he changed his mind.
In June of 2001, he sent George Tenet to Israel to attempt to implement the Mitchell Plan, a plan calling for cessation of new building in the Jewish settlements. On the same day he met with Israeli and Palestinian officials, tropical storm Allison formed in the Gulf of Mexico and moved over Texas, the President’s home state, and dropped over twenty-eight inches of rain over the Houston area alone, causing over $4 billion dollars in damage. The storm then moved to Florida and up the east coast causing damage as far as Pennsylvania. The meteorologists claimed Allison as the “worst tropical storm in history”.
We forced Jewish people to leave their land and their houses with the Gaza pullout - and we just coincidentally get hit by hurricane Katrina that just happened to cause a certain amount of our people to be uprooted and displaced from their land and their houses.
This catastrophic hurricane was no coincidence and no accident. We have seen God the Father release a judgment strike of biblical proportions against our country because our leaders did not know their Bible well enough to make the correct decision on this matter.
God continues to send warning after warning as we as a country insist that Israel give up land that God promised to Abraham and his descendents. The responsibility of such action rests on our own shoulders because God has warned in His Word for the nations to keep their hands off of His covenant land and has demonstrated that He is serious about that warning.

Wasn’t he a Smurf?

This is not going to go well for you. I hope you at least stick around and try to defend yourself. It’s a shame when guests don’t stick around for their beating.

So what do you suggest we do?

Clearly it’s to do with meteorology: foreign policy is directly related to the number and intensity of hurricanes.

Not only that, but every single individual involved is dead ! Except for in Britain and Germany, but the harsh judgement of God is evident on the few surviving transgressors. They are all wrinkled, weak, and sickly; the curse of Abraham is obviously slowly destroying them !

Alas, the prophecy is quite clear on when this will occur;

God promises that he will make this judgement - at that time when he restores the fortunes of “Judah and Jerusalem”. A singular event. You’ve got two problems here; first, if you want to include Babylon, Persia et al as being victims to this curse, you’ll need to show that Israel’s fortunes were restored at that time; a difficult task, though debatable. More importantly, you can’t apply it to all of those nations/groups, only those that broke up Israel concurrently. For example, you can’t include both Babylon and Britain, because the event only happens once. Babylon recieving judgment would preclude Britain from getting it, as they didn’t exist; Britain recieveing judgment would mean Babylon didn’t, because they no longer exist to be judged against.

So no, by the prophecy itself, it cannot be drawn to apply to all of those nations. That doesn’t stop you from saying it applies now and we should be wary, of course. But it does mean you cannot use that list of examples to show a history of evidence for the curse; the curse, specifically, cannot apply to all of them.

Well, I think God has some personality disorder. In 1997, Turkey launched a strategic dialogue with Israel aimed at high-level military cooperation and strengthening of both nations’ national security. And what thanks does Turkey get from God? The 1999 Ismit Earthquake which killed over 17,000 and left half a million homeless. Thanks for nothing, God!

There is concern over that issue, along with the end time prophesies (i.e. Daniel, Revelation). Israel has always been a center of conflict in the world and will continue to be so till the second coming. It will not be pleasant but something the world has to go through.

Follow Lord Jesus, ‘do not turn to the right or the left’. There is some protection given to the believer (those sealed by God) during the end times, and though it is unclear when during the tribulation it will happen, many believe in a pre-tribulation rapture where the Church (the body of believers) will be ‘caught up in air’ (taken by Jesus out of the world).

What about that time when some guy bought some porn and then a hurricane slammed into some fish in the middle of the ocean? That’ll show em. Stupid fish.

You mean the rapture that has been predicted hundreds of times and not actually happened yet? The one where only 144,000 people who have not defiled themselves with women will actually get to go? Oddly enough, that doesn’t rule out gay men.

I’ve seen sites on the web where you can sign up to have your pet taken care of after you get sucked up by the big vaccuum cleaner in the sky. I’d like to offer my services to those who wish their pets taken care of. Cash up front.

I dunno, many would say that George has done an excellent job of staying out of the peace.

Persia didn’t scatter the Jews, they allowed them to return to Israel after the Babylonian captivity. Also a lot of these countries lasted a long time after they took over the holy land. The Romans, for example, destroyed the temple and scattered the Jews in 70A.D, and continued to be the most powerful entity in the world for centuries afterwords. Indeed, going by how those countries faired after they captured the Holy Land, I’d say that doing so is as likely to guarantee a global power a few centuries of dominance as herald their demise.

Excuse me, but GOD has an ineffable plan that your puny mortal brain can’t possibly comprehend.

Now…BEND OVER, MORTALS! Bahahahhaa!

Well, his dates are a bit off and I’m mystified how a racehorse was guilty of scattering the Israelites, but JackRyan is right about bad fortune in this case - Mameluke lost the 1951 Kentucky Derby. And that was only four years after the U.N. vote to divide the land. Coincidence? I think not!

Plus, Mameluke’s forebears included equines named Meddler, Busybody and Goody-Two Shoes, and there is a message there for all of us.

God was going to send a nice singing telegram, too… but then Mrs. God was all like “What are you, a wimp? You’re such a lazy wimp. At least send locusts. Or a storm or something. Geez. And when are you going to paint the garage, Mr. Omnipotent?”

Heather has two momies and a daddy?

So god uses bad weather to punish the ones that mess with Israel?
That explains why the Roman empire curled up and died after a remarkable hail storm and how the Ottomas gave up when a tsunami hit Constantinopla and why…

Wait, that´s not how it went, was it?

Talk about fixing the facts around the policy.

I dunno; there’s got to be a practical way to harness the storms that God sends us every time we curse Israel. Wind farms? Tidal power generators? Cursing Israel could very well become the power source of the 21st century. What better way to liberate America from foreign oil?

Or maybe the Kurds are actually the Chosen People. I guess I’ll have to start revising my theories on who controls Hollywood and the banking industry.
