The Absolutely F'd-Up, Weird-Ass, Sick and Horrible Case of Colonel Russell Williams

Or, alternately, sociopaths might be more likely to be driven and ambitious than the average person. If one has that and the right ability to fit in to the environment and not bristle under the serious discipline required to be in the military, you might well see this result.

My total WAG about the Bernardo thing is, who knows, maybe this guy heard about the Bernardo killings and thought “hmm, all these unsolved crimes - I guess if you’re smart, you can get away with this,” and was inspired to act out some of his impulses.

Yeah, that’s a better way of putting it. Thanks!

New Fox series?

It’s Karla Homolka, by the way, for anyone who wants to go search on a truly messed-up woman.

This is a great advertisement for the Scarborough campus.

It is tenuous, but it also deserves to be looked into. The article seems to just be sensationalizing the whole idea, but at the same time, the odds must be insanely long (no pun intended) for this to happen. Two serial killers, in the same school, same class, same time, that also happened to be at least casual acquaintances? It’s not out of the realm of possibility that this could lead somewhere.

On another note, the bastard is literally being held just down the street from my apartment. I kind of figured, that place gets the worst of the worst from the whole province while they await trial. :smack:

I remember when I was in my QL2 (aka basic training) in Dundurn, SK. Without too much exaggeration, I can safely say I was probably the only one in my platoon who wasn’t all “when do we get our guns?” pretty much every day. (I once found a live round where there wasn’t supposed to be one, I followed procedure and reported it to my sargeant, but I know that if any of my other basic trainees were to have found it, they would have pocketed it.

Maybe that’s why I only stayed in the forces for 6 months. (About 15 years ago. Marianas Trench was not involved.)

Yeah, but - he was a freakin’ bus driver… not exactly a “durr durr guns” kind of thing.

Apparantly, he flew the Queen around…

I told you – not until you tell me your name.

Well, that just gave me the impression that everyone in the military - from the generals down to us dregs - was just waiting for their guns and that wasn’t a good fit for me.

I’ve had it up to HERE with your freakin’ RULES, man!

He told you once.

Anyone else picturing Lizzy flying around the yard, this guy on her back, with her dress flapping in the breeze?

“Wheeeeeee!”

I am now.

And back in the news today, Colonel Williams attempts suicide while in jail.

In case it wasn’t clear enough already, this is not a normal individual.:confused::o

Saw that this morning.
Damn, isn’t he full of regret now that he got caught

I can’t even imagine how you’d come up with that particular plan to kill yourself. I mean - toilet paper roll and aluminum foil? McGyver could have diffused a nuclear bomb, but the leap to “commit suicide with it” is not something my brain can grasp. Good think I’m not suicidal - I’d clearly fail at doing it creatively!

He’s supposed to put the tinfoil hat on top of his head.

I never saw it either in an interview with Jeffery Dalmer a few months before his death. Williams was definitely organized. That is what makes them so bizarre. They are working and functioning and have this secret life.

Do you mean Dahmer or Bundy? Dahmer kept corpses in his apartment and never deniede what he did. Bundy hid corpses in caves and went back to visit them, and denied the murders until the night before his execution.

Dahmer was disorganized; Bundy was organized.
