The Adventures of WinAmp, Media Player of the Desert

On my computer at work, I’ve ripped in the neighborhood of 40-50 CDs that I’ve brought in from home plus I’ve got 60 or so MP3 files that were acquired elsewhere.

One of those CDs happens to be ABBA’s Gold (a greatest hits collection).

Now don’t get me wrong, I loves me some ABBA. But you would think when I’ve got my entire music directory loaded as a WinAmp playlist, and tell it to shuffle the songs, that ABBA would only turn up once in a great while.

Nope, I swear every fourth song is “S.O.S” or “Mama Mia.” At least I’m spared the horror of “Fernando” every few songs.

Pointless. My middle name.

Well there’s an idea for future updates. Let you rank songs on a scale from 1 to 10. The higher a songs ranking the more often it gets played in rotation.

Are there really pointless threads?

Under Preferences–>Options–>Shuffle, there’s something called the morph rate that you can adjust. To quote the text box, it says

Maybe tweaking that would help you.
