last year i watched a report on dateline or 20/20 about a revolutionary shot that you get once a month that will stop allergies at the cellular level-i saw this report over a year ago and have heard nothing since-can the drug companies and the advertising agencies that are making millions of dollars from claritan and all the other products that are being marketed (and dont work) for allergies be able to stop or slow this shot from being made available? am i paranoid? my eyes are burning-
That sounds almost like some sort of genetic modification which, even though it might work, won’t be available for several years. So if that’s the case, the drug companies for claritin etc. aren’t trying to block it (not now, anyway…)
I’m suffering too. I’m on Norel Plus right now. I took claritin for 1 week and wound up with severe headaches/dizziness. Later I took allegra–two of them, to be exact–and spent a day at home vomiting, shivering, etc.
A “genetic modification” would not take the form of a shot you have to repeat every few months, it would be permanent. And genetically-based therapies for far more serious diseases are still a fair ways off - it’ll be a long time before we see gene therapy for allergies. Sounds a lot more like an anti-IgE vaccine or something along those lines to me.
