Put down another yes in the “alone on NYE” column.
I’ll probably wind up sitting in front of the computer, drinking cheap champale straight from the can while feeling sorry for myself…
Just kidding
I plan on spending NYE sitting in front of a warm, roaring fire reading a good book (either Anna Kerenin or some poetry, most likely Byron) while enjoying a bit of a drink. I’m looking forward to it actually. I need a bit of time to myself so I can relax, it’s been a rough year.
Anyway, I hope everybody has a great New Year, andKallessa, if I may say so, you certainly have the right idea about how to spend New Year’s.
I usually spend New Year’s Eve at home with the family. In the pre-kid days, Mr. Legend and I went to a few parties, but they were always vaguely depressing, and I was always afraid we’d get killed by a drunk on the way home (I never could drink any alcohol myself, since I knew I’d be driving). All in all, it’s more fun to stay home, where I know we’re relatively safe and where the morning people among us can fall asleep when they want to.
Don’t knock being online for New Year’s Eve, either. One of the most fun “parties” I’ve ever attended was a chat party a few years ago. I’ve since become really good friends with some of the people who were there, and I think it may become a tradition.
