The Amazon Reviewer Game

Inspired by this thread about the general bullshitery of Amazon reviews, I had an idea. My idea is to create an Amazon reviewer and see how long it would take to get this guy into the Top 100 of all reviewers at Amazon. A bunch of my friends would be writers of reviews and would have access to the logon and password. Those who don’t want to write reviews can give all of our reviews postive votes. I bet that within a year we could have a Top 100 reviewer.

Anything can be reviewed but I think that the best road to success would be to potitively review popular, noncontroversial books and items. Reviews should be no longer than about 100 words. We should probably review lots of toys in the time prior to Xmas.

I doubt that I’m the first one to have that idea. The sheer volume of some of the reviewers leads me to believe that there are some “teams” out there but the collective creativity of this group should outshine them.

I have thought about this and I don’t think that there is anything unethical about the idea but I would be interested in hearing from anyone who disagrees in this thread. If this is a Bad Thing I can be easily convinced to drop the idea.

Those who are interested in playing email me and, if there is enough interest, I’ll get it going. Let’s keep this thread to general strategy and whether or not this is a good idea.

No. we’re not going to organize people from this site to put one over on another site. We wouldn’t want them doing it to us; we’re not going to do it to them.
