Does the President have the authority to eject/ban the VP’s staff from the White House? He can’t fire the VP, so it would be a bit odd if he had any authority over the VP’s staff.
When it happened, there was no outcry about Trump not having the authority, but about the optics. Legally, though, I don’t know. It’s possibly just another norm which hasn’t been tested.
When I read the original story about Marc Short being banned from the White House, I thought they were referring to a particular day (Monday maybe?) when they wouldn’t let him in to join Pence in his meeting with Trump.

The ID requirement was for a verified account, the equivalent of Twitter’s blue check mark. You could get a regular account without one, there were probably 100 accounts with Donald Trump’s name and photo.
I signed up to post my election theory, to tell MAGA if enough people wrote in Trump for both Senate seats, they would create joinder and Trump could win both seats.
