LOL! MacNeil is just to the north of Anderson Island, of course.
Dateline, MacNeil Island State Penetentiary–Someone has been sneaking into the prison without alerting personnel, dogs or security devices just to leave flowers for various inmates. A few of them are spooked about this but others are touched by the mysterious person’s thoughtfulness. An inmate who goes by the name of Snake said, “I’m going to death row next week so finding a vase of flowers at my cell door really made my day. I probably will never knew who the Flower Fairy is but if you drop by tonight, I really would like to thank you in person. I’d also like to ask you a favor. Please get me out of here! I don’t know how you do it but please, I don’t wanna DIE here. Get me OUT! I’ll go insane on Death Row, please let me liiivee…!”

I thought the McNeil Island pen was closed years ago-?
Well, it was years ago that I lived near there.
And from a web search, it looks as though it’s still open, but changed from federal to state a while ago.
Just one problem: Snake would be in Walla Walla, not McNeil.
(Actually, at one time the AIFF could have worked McNeil. My great-grandfather had a farm on the island up to the time when the Feds kicked all the civilians off. My mother used to spend her summers there.)
He was being transferred.
