The Ant-Farm Theory

Sorry, we just received a shipment of Purel Handcleaner.

So, real question: Who were Einstein’s “multiple combined employees and outside audiences?”

ok?

Einstein did not contribute in getting us to the moon did he…

Do you have a citation where somebody makes that claim? Otherwise it is a non sequitur. It don’t follow.

You’ll be asked for citations a lot here and in real life. You can’t be asking us to do your homework, unless we don’t know it. Forget that you told us you are 15, unless you aren’t really.

Also of relevance, why would we want to move all of our stuff to a tidally-locked superearth orbiting close to a flare star?

…just you? Not, y’know, multiple people, working in combination?

It was awesome; I had all the new ideas and could clearly see things that other people couldn’t. I suffered mightily as I struggled as the new Prometheus bringing light to the world. It was supremely evident that I was the representative of the next evolutionary step in human kind. Somehow a gene in my DNA mutated and allowed me such clarity and such suffering because no one could understand my new perspective.

I suggest reading this as it helped ease the pain immensely: How to Drive Fast on Drugs While Getting Your Wing-Wang Squeezed and Not Spill Your Drink

Alas, I grew up but still fight the man as much as I can in between overtime and mortgage payments.

How are you going to get any group of humans “without a drop of biased perception”?

Are you here to tell us that we need to end stay-at-home? That we need to share our work? That we need to work to a common goal as humanity?
In other words, please expand on what you want to accomplish by joining us and sharing your quote.

Guards at Winnipeg Juvenile Hall laughed at my hypothesis: a Möbius strip twists a two-dimensional surface into the third dimension and thus is semi-dimensional. Its extrusion as a Klein bottle twists a three-dimensional object into… where? The human mind is a wetware multi-dimensional extension, a twist from our four-dimension space-time continuum into… cosmic realms. Sure, it’s only a metaphor, but they laughed at me anyway, then fed me fried liver. Did I deserve that punishment? Does anyone?

The questionable premise I’m seeing in the OP’s theory is that for an object to have value it must be observed by people in the future (“our work will be for nothing if it doesn’t survive longer than us”).

Why assume this? If a future observer can give value, why can’t a present observer?

Come to think of it, it’s a variation on the tree falling in the forest question.

What is the point of surviving in a world with no entertainment? How do we identify bias and wrong approaches without criticism?

Solving the problems we are creating for ourselves, and external threats, right here on Earth are magnitudes easier than traveling to and surviving in space around Proxima-B.

I suggest taking a diverse group to an uninhabited part of the Sahara desert and creating a self-sustaining colony before tackling space. It would include a lot of the same challenges, but without the pesky lack of oxygen and need for a pressurized base.

I was not making a hypothesis, as this theory has been proved multiple times making it a statement. I wanted people to acknowledge this theory and try to make a difference. The future is all about advancing technology and promoting action.

When I said criticism, i meant petty criticism. Entertainment can be used as a reward but not as a job, such as, a football player. And yes, i believe that testing this theory in the desert would be a great start, though, there wouldn’t be lots of people and if we are attempting to transfer planets then a group of 100 or more would need to attend. Also, the heat of the desert is the complete opposite of the chilling temperatures in space, therefore, could cause problems in the resources used in the desert like a sun hat compared to a thick spacesuit in space. I acknowledge that this may seem very flawed today but this may be more possible as time goes on and technology advances. I used to believe that going to the deep sea would be a better way of testing, but then i realized that it is too dangerous due to the daily nature of the abyssal zone. First of all, there are no black dragon-fish, giant squid, or hatchet-fish swimming in the void so the results could vary based on what encounters occur. Second of all, people can actually die during the test which is too dangerous for a group of 100 people.

I’ll insist like your teacher would: Show your work. Neatness counts toward a better grade.

The world is not dying. Even the worst projections about global climate change don’t say that. What is happening is the climate is changing and the oceans will rise, meaning many low-lying areas inhabited by people and wildlife will be underwater. So take that vacation to the Maldives soon, while the people of Bangladesh are probably going to have to move. And I wouldn’t recommend buying a condo in Miami, at least not one on the first floor. But there will still be places for people to live and grow food. There will still be wildlife, although perhaps not in the abundance of past centuries.

Meanwhile, going to Proxima-B, especially in a manned mission, is massively complex and expensive. We could probably reverse the effects of climate change for less than a single mission might cost.

You’re not alone in thinking that. But who are you to say what people are allowed to enjoy and pay for? People can say “I think professional football is bad” and vote with their dollars, but who are they to say “You shouldn’t be allowed to pay for football tickets or pay-per view because I think it’s a moral problem.”

If you want to discuss such issues with anyone and be taken seriously, you’re also better off not dealing in such broad generalizations and absolutes.

You should read Where Good Ideas Come From: The Natural History of Innovation

Your base thesis is covered in this book and greatly expanded upon

Also, this is a good time to read this book, because the author makes a connection between how ideas happen and how evolution happens. Worth it to read this and consider how the corona virus may have evolved.
