The Anti-Kite Flying Democratic Front

Just browsing through the New York Times, and found reference to the above-cited party. Believe it or not, it’s a real organization, confronting a real problem: lethal kite string. Not a problem where you live? Count yourself lucky that you don’t live in Pakistan. That country seems to perfectly illustrate the maxim that when it rains, it pours.

Here’s the article. (You may need to register to read it; if you’re not registered, try bugmenot.com.)

Huh. So when the Taliban banned kite-flying, they weren’t just being killjoy assholes? (that time, at least)

Go figure.

So…if we can’t fly kites…do the terrorists win? Or are the kite-flyers the terrorists? I’m so confused!

Kite…duels? And I thought the idea of full-contact bowling was odd.
