Destiny is a synonymn actually. From the OED: Doom: 4. Fate, lot, irrevocable destiny.

If doom implies a negative ending to be in the works, I would think that salvation implies the opposite. I guess, however, that that would require you to accept doom and damnation to be synonyms.
