Maybe they should have read our “Permits for protesting” thread beforehand
They are getting more attention for their cause by getting arrested. I admire their bravery.
The AP finally has a proper story up:
Hey! I’ll be at one of those right here in Las Vegas, on the Courthouse steps!
FWIW, At an overpass near the Microsoft campus this morning, two guys were holding a banner over the freeway that said something to the effect “Microsoft Employees want to abolish ICE”
Be sure and let us know immediately if you see them tomorrow morning with a sign that says “former Microsoft Employees want to abolish ICE”!
Seriously, I hope they did not and do not lose their jobs for that stunt and I commend them for taking the risk to express themselves.
It’s not like “two guys” is any significant percentage of Microsoft employees. They could have not risked their jobs (or forced Microsoft - which sells a good bit of software / services to ICE - into an awkward denial) by just making their banner say “We want to abolish ICE”.
FWIW, I’m delighted to see my colleagues across the aisle joining Republicans in the “which part(s) of the fed .gov would you like to abolish?” game. It’s fun (even if it will never happen), isn’t it?
