I say that nobody actually understood the point I was making which was neither that Trump would not be able to get away with everything, nor that If he was a if he did so it would be boring. But I accept that given the title and the delightful smug satisfaction of saying “whose bored now, hur, hur.” , there is no point in my trying to once again explain the point I was trying to make. Instead I will consider that by taking on the role of Trump Pollyanna, even if inaccurately, I have given pleasure to many posters who in these grim times can get a moments respite by saying to themselves well at least I’m not as dumb as that guy.

I’ve posted this many times before but here we go again.
It was specifically that in a speculative discussion of what techniques Trump would use to pass his agenda, and what could be done to mitigate it, the argument that Trump was unstoppable, without any follow up but just with repetition of the claim, was a boring rhetorical dead end.
It would be like going into any discussion of climate change, green energy, and the current research, just repeatedly posting, “People are too selfish to stop using carbon, climate change is unstoppable, we are all going to burn.” Even if accurate, it kills the thread.
I’m pretty sure that would just make me develop a flinch reflex for kittens.
