The argument that Trump will do whatever he wants and no one can stop him is really fucking boring

Resistance to fascists has always had a cost in blood.

I agree. They will never be cast out through elections, or the courts. The Tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the the blood of patriots and tyrants.

So so boring

I agree. That is one boring headline summary as a link.

Here ya go:

Many (federal employees) have been given termination paperwork containing the brief phrase: “Art. II Constitution.” The words are shorthand for a claim that Trump has authority to fire anyone working in the executive branch, not just managers or policymakers. Critics say the stance amounts to a power grab unseen in the U.S. since the the federal civil service was created in 1883.

So…firing regular federal government employees, for being insufficiently worshipful of Dear Leader.

Nothing to see here. Boring.

I imagine President Garfield would have found it boring as well (right up until Chuck Guiteau came a-calllin’).

If anyone but the US Federal Government owns it, they should just take it under eminent domain.

Worlds largest soup kitchen.

Tackiest Waffle House?

I feel like this thread merits a bump today. Nothing of what Trump is doing with regards to Venezuela is remotely legal. Will Trump be stopped? Will he be impeached and removed from office? Will the 25th Amendment be invoked? Will the military decide these orders are illegal and throw a coup? Will Trump suffer any consequences at all?

There have been times and situations in which Trump has been stopped, and I continue to hold that he is not undefeatable and that this madness shall pass, but I must admit that emerging circumstances have made me feel more and more like Marge Simpson of late.

I’m tired and January 2029 can’t come soon enough.

Trump is defeatable, just not through the courts or the ballot box.

Between murdering civilians on the open sea and invading a sovereign nation to kidnap its head of state, it’s pretty clear we have the answer to our question about whether the military will ever reach a point where it says “no” and refuses to follow Trump’s dictates.

Write your congress people please. Be blunt. I’m being very blunt.

The good news is that Trump timed our invasion and presidential kidnapping perfectly for prominent impotent Democrats to express concern on all the Sunday political talk shows today!
Win, win!

No.

No.

No.

No.

None whatsoever.

Trump will do whatever he wants and no one can stop him.

Say what you want about the collapse of America, it is not boring. It’s actually kind of fascinating in a “hey, my open wound is turning a beautiful shade of gree” kind of way.

It’s nuts. I actually want my wife the learn how to shoot (we’ll get a pro, I’ve tried, umm no). That’s how messed up it is. It’s best to be prepared.

MAGA’s are crazy.

What I find depressing is that even now, there are people who dismiss the existential threat of MAGA. They think that when Trump die “America will go back to normal” whatever the fuck that means. Roughly 45% of Americans are violent racist assholes and they still will be the day after Trump, dies.

Now that he is bombing and invading democratic nations and kidnapping their duly elected leaders, is it still boring? I’m going to ask this question again every time he does it which, by all appearances, may at least be several more times.
