I fear the coming day when I walk into my aunt’s house and see Killing Trump by Bill O’Reilly on her coffee table.
Perhaps more probable still though is an attack of some sort on Trump Tower or another of the Donald’s properties. I wouldn’t want to office, live or vacation at any of them, for a variety of reasons actually.
As much as I can’t stand what he stands for, I could never accept that there was a reason to assassinate him. Lobotomize him perhaps, but not assassinate.
I’d fear that nuts with guns (aka the Republican base) would take it out on the group the shooter came from - or the group they assumed the shooter came from even if he didn’t.
I for one do not want to see Trump off’d this year because I do not have him in my 2015 SDMB Dead Pool. Please wait until 2016. I have cookies…
IMO, the type of personality likely to become a deranged political assassin is the same type of personality likely to support Trump.

I think it’s just as likely a Trump supporter takes a shot at Hilary. More likely, even. To me, the big question is are they going to do it because Hilary is an “ISIS lover”, “gun taker-awayer”, or “BENGHAZIIIIIIII!!!”. I wouldn’t be surprised to see someone take a shot at the President because of his “Muslim-loving ways”.
The suicide-bombing Muslin from ISIS, with the bomb hidden under clothing, finally gets almost close enough to President-elect Trump to trigger the bomb – only to be cut down by a stray bullet from the AK-47 fired by an illegal alien rapist in the pay of a Mexican drug lord, who was not sober enough to aim carefully at the Donald.
You’d think so, but since assassination is an insane act in a democracy, in practice assassins have almost never been from groups that were offended by a President, at least not in the sense that mainstream members of their group would be offended. The last Trump-like candidate was George Wallace, and he was shot by a guy for pretty much no reason at all. Other famous Presidents or Presidential candidates in recent years were also shot pretty randomly. Hinckley did it for Jodie Foster, RFK was shot by a Palestinian, and JFK was shot by a communist. While the KEnnedy murders were overtly political, they were also senseless because why would a sensible political activist kill the lesser of the two evils are far as your cause goes? It would seem that Obama is more likely to be murdered by a Latino or Muslim activist than Trump if history is any judge.
I thought for sure Obama would get shot my some crazy skinhead and if that didn’t happen I don’t think Trump will get shot either, but it is interesting to think what if…
The US is so crazy and paranoid right now and so many groups of them are armed with guns, so if Trump was assassinated I think people would jump up grab their guns and go out and shoot each other. …it would be mass hysteria shootings all across America.
It’s always the threat you don’t anticipate. It’ll be an environmentalist or anti-war activist who gets Obama if anybody does.
