Some folks may be looking at Poly’s message, above (the one just above Gaudere’s) and wondering what the hell he’s talking about. I had accidentally posted a message in here that was meant for a different thread, talking about something Lib said (regarding “dating himself”) and made reference to the same thread Poly makes reference to. But I realized that I’d screwed up and used my awesome moderatorial powers to delete the errant message – but apparently not before Poly saw it and responded. Whoops!
Thank God /David that that got cleared up. I was wondering if I was hallucinating posts! (Hmmm…now, there’s a fruitful topic for inquiry…)
Um, it was all a false memory on your part. I never posted that message here.
Now let me go find the delete powers again…
I refuse to believe that there exist moderators with the power to delete whole posts. I see no evidence of it other than the odd claim here and there.
Ha! I’ve just proven it to you! You can’t see any messages between yours and mine, right?
I thought I should share that Phil has alerted me about a foul.
Paul McCartney, while perhaps not deeply schooled in music theory, is inately gifted with a profound understanding of music that transcends that of the most erudite theorists.
As Phil said, “He is a master of understanding which keys work together. The most instructive example is “Here, There and Everywhere,” in which he wanders through the home key (G), its relative minor (Em), its parallel minor (Gm), and its relative major (Bb), all in the space of two minutes and without pause.”
Phil proves his case, in my opinion.
Advanced theoretical analysis of the Beatles’ music is available here. Phil provided that link.
