I never said Savage Garden was overflowing with substance and who said I absolutely love them anyway?! I just listen to them, is that legal? Plus, don’t go beleiving Michelle (bobevilsquid), she just has a problem with me and the music I listen to(you should see her cd collection. Yuck!!). The music I was talking about was the stuff like Nelly, Afroman, O’Town, N’SYNC etc. I don’t like popular music like that or all that rap stuff. That is what I said and I never mentioned any names because I knew it would offened people.
I’m naming my next band Oldie’s Butt Goodies.

All that rap stuff? Oh, you must mean that wide and diverse body of music, known as hip-hop, which has some of the most talented and innovative musicians EVER amongst it’s members. People of all nations and backgrounds who have spent thousands of hours perfecting their craft. That’s just the musicians. This is why I didn’t mention any names or types of music and I better not say anything else for fear of offending someone.
I find that threads about the poor state of radio often can be summed into “How come radio doesn’t only play music I like?” The obvious answer is, they’re not just looking to please you, but everyone else as well. And they’ll fail, most of the time. The thing is, while 100 different people may complain that they only like one song on the radio, if they happen to be talking about different songs, then the station is doing all it can to make them all happy while they’re all still miserable.
I’m not thrilled with my local stations, but since I don’t spend much time in my car anyway, it doesn’t bug me. I have the radio off most of the time. The tape player broke a few years ago and I just can’t justify replacing it when I spend 20 minutes a day tops in my car.
You’re looking to a mass market device to make you personally happy. That’s not going to happen. Get a tape deck or mp3 player or something and go to town.
