Ody-sse-y! The Odyssey Channel! Every weekday! 5pm Central time!
The Cooper episode oughtta turn up aroud Halloween, along with Vincent Price.
Um… I’m pretty certain that they don’t have that channel in my country…
Rigardu, kaj vi ekvidos.
Cantera, are thinking of “Gags Beezely’s Banana Sketch”? It was supposedly the funniest act in show biz. Gags was the hero of Fozzie Bear and standup comedians everywhere.

Juniper, if you can do that you will be my hero for LIFE!!!
I don’t get Odyssey in my town… now I’m really bummed. That’s it. I’m hijacking a sattelite so that I can watch The Muppet Show.
The whole point of “The Banana Sketch” was that they never got to it, and poor Gonzo would have to dejectedly sulk back to his dressing room and get out of his Carmen Maranda outfit.
Three words.
I Love Those Bikes.
(OK, it was 4)
DAMN they’re fast!
The Muppet Show?!
I love the Muppet Show!! Okay, everyone, sing along…
“it’s time to put on makeup, it’s time to light the lights, it’s time to get things started on The Muppet Show tonight!..”
Females: It’s time to play the music
It’s time to light the lights
It’s time to meet the Muppets on the Muppet Show tonight.
Males: It’s time to put on makeup
It’s time to dress up right
It’s time to raise the curtain on the Muppet Show tonight.
Kermit: To introduce our guest star
That’s what I’m here to do
So it really makes me happy
To introduce to you <guest star name>
Waldorf: Why do we always come here
Statler: I guess we’ll never know
Waldorf: It’s like a kind of torture
both: To have to watch the show
(brief interlude)
Muppets: And now let’s get things started
Audience: Why don’t you get things started
Kermit: It’s time to get things started
Muppets: on the most sensational inspirational celebrational Muppetational
this is what we call the Muppet Show!
(Gonzo blows his trumpet)
Got that from a web site, but I think they have the order a little off.
Looks like this week they’ve changed the times. The Muppet Show is now on Odyssey at 5 PM Eastern, or 4 PM Central. Evidently, they had some My Three Sons episodes to squeeze in. Grrr…

And something different always happened when Gonzo* blew his trumpet! Bubbles would come out of it, or there’d be a cork stuck in it, or something; it never blew right!
*Gonzo was my favorite character, no contest. Henson wasn’t often derivative, but Gonzo always reminded me of Klinger, from MASH: the nose, and the way they both just had their own schtick and no self-consciousness!
