Well I’m all caught up now. Totally knew that guy at the end was going to show up eventually.
Wonder if this is the last we’ll see of Bradley?

That was the season finale?
The kid who plays Norman is doing a great job of acting. Craaaaazy, but I want to help him. Everyone wants to help him.
Is Dylan going to be the new local pot kingpin?
Wiki tells me it was renewed for a third season.
Watched the After Show … didn’t realize Norman is a Brit. (The girl who can’t breath is also but her accent isn’t as strong).
I imagine they are from different areas.
I stopped watching this after a couple of episodes into the new season, pretty much when the revelation was made that
Caleb (Norma’s brother) was Dylan’s dad. I called it as soon as I saw Caleb - he looked a little too like Dylan for that to be a coincidence
It was too much craziness - I had no desire to watch that story line play out at all, but it seemed to be one of the major plot points of S2.
I think (thought?) that Vera Farmiga is doing a helluva acting job.
For what it’s worth, they didn’t draw it out for too long, and it was sort of left unresolved. Someone should have demanded a paternity test, but no one did.
Anybody watch the season premier? As I did I wondered to myself what it was that I liked about the show. Then the ending made me realize…assuming what I think happened happened. I wasn’t paying close attention by then.
Seemed like the eye makeup on the police guy and the older brother was way too much in the bar scene.
That’s all I got …
The actor playing the Sheriff really has eyes like that. He took make up removal goop to them on TV.
Yup, still watching. They jumped right back into the creepy without missing a beat. The show continues to be very entertaining. I’m surprised it’s not more popular.
He’s 18. Are you sure you should be sleeping with him?
Gonna be hard to run a motel when the guests keep disappearing.
And yeah, Nestor Carbonell’s eyes are naturally like that. He’s had to deal with the “too much eye makeup” comments his whole career. If he had a dollar for everytime he’s had to explain it, he wouldn’t have to work.
As long as you get the money up front, there are lakes and woods and stuff.
Good fertilizer for all the pot farms.
I realize that this is an old thread. Back in 2013 when this series was beginning on A&E I intended to watch it. But the best made plans…
Now here I am 11 years later and realized that all 5 seasons are on Amazon Prime. So over last few weeks I have been binge watching the entire series. I’m through 4 seasons (40 episodes) with the final season to go.
I am genuinely impressed with the acting quality especially from Farmiga and Highmore. They have both gone on to great performances after this series. The writing could have been better, but as mentioned back when the series was first aired, they moved the plot along rather swiftly. And the actors did great work with it.
As the body count ratcheted up season to season, with enough misdirection along the way, as the viewer, you are compelled to have empathy for Norma and Norman, albeit at different times throughout the story arc.
Going into the final season, while Norma may be dead, clearly Mother is still around and heavily influencing Norman. It’s interesting that they could have ended the series at the end of Season 4, but I’m interested to see how the writers finish things off.
All in all, I give the series and a B+/A-.
Dayum! Has it been 9 years already?!
But yeah I envy you. I put watching this show off for a long time because I was never a fan of the original movie.
I was surprised how much I liked this series.
Enjoy!
I watched it years ago, back when it was on Netflix. I’m terrible at remembering details, but I remember my general impression was that seasons 1-3 were pretty good, but seasons 4-5 were when it started getting really good.
What a coincidence! I took up the series starting a few months ago, and just finished maybe a couple weeks ago. My impression is similar to @WildaBeast’s. The first two seasons in particular seem a bit slow as the groundwork gets laid for what follows, things start to pick up around season 3, the show really hits its stride in season 4, and season 5 continues or exceeds it. Season 5 also manages to be both the darkest and the funniest season by far IMHO.
Finished the final season (5) this weekend, and agree that it was the darkest in terms of plot and humor. Why Farmiga and Highmore didn’t get even emmy nominations for that last season, I don’t know.
