So how come when they parted ways, Paul did nothing but crap?
John did a lot of crap as well, but at least there were a few gems mixed in.
“Band on the Run”, “Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey”, “Live and Let Die”??
Nervous stomach?
mmm

The Beatles are also over-rich, over-laid and they overly influenced future musicians. There, I said it. Reality made a mistake.
Wayne Newton was influenced by “They Might Be Giants”? News to me.
To be honest the Beatles’ music has not aged as well as many of their competitors. I can still listen The Doors and Pink Floyd’s debuts with ease, but Sgt. Peppers sounds like old music in comparison. The production on that album in particular has not stood the test of time.
Also, they had some pretty corny songs later like Rocky Racoon and Honeypie and The Story of Bungalow Bill.
The Beatles are a living legend that will live long after other living legends have died. They were also bigger than Rod.
Pink Floyd I won’t comment on. It’s still sonically pretty brilliant, even though it’s not my cup of tea, but the Doors? Sgt. Peppers sounds far better than anything the Doors ever did. I personally think most of the Beatles opus still sounds pretty fresh today. The Beatles were well before my time, but they still sound fantastic (well, minus some of their hyper-separated stereo stuff).
After they separated, Paul continued to pump out hit after hit. John dedicated himself to being a drunken, abusive, weird, public jackass for a long time and recorded a lot of self-indulgent crap. Then he became a reclusive, drunken, abusive, weird house-husband for a long time. Then he recorded a not-quite-mediocre album which became a million-seller because he got killed by another weirdo.
I swear, I will never understand the 60s generation and their idolization of somebody as repulsive as John Lennon.
ITD is a woman. How could she be a bro?
That’s what he said.
Because we all have different tastes? A lot of people liked his music and didn’t care what he was like as a person.
“Yet, there’s something universal about that music and The Beatles’ appeal that will go on for a long time to come, in spite of their not being here. Because they were driven by a real passion, which is still evident, and were endlessly innovative. They put an awful lot into the music and it lives on."

Why pick on the 60s generation when multiple preceding generations did the same for Frank Sinatra?
I find that people who base their criticism on little more than personal taste and antipathy to an artist’s personality can be dismissed as actual art critics.
Well, at that time, Rod wouldn’t be big for another eight years yet, and certainly at that stage hadn’t had a hit.

A compromise: A few parts Beatles, a few parts Dead and we have JGB Dear Prudence! ( I know it’s not new to you. )
Okay, that was actually really good.
Rush still sucks though
Good evening. I’d like to talk to you tonight about the place of the nude in my bed … um … in the history of my bed … of art, art!!
Like a Dyson.
