I just ran across Deep Purple’s Purpendicular, from 1996 with Steve Morse on guitar.

I had never heard of it, didn’t know any of the songs, never heard anybody talk about it.

It’s a great album.

Mel Torme singing a torch song about suffocation

The Knack’s Doug Fieger providing superb vocals o two songs tha DONTsound anything like “My Sharona” (who thought it possible?)
