In OKC, its Bunny’s Onion Burgers. Best chain, Whattaburger (why can’t they put one in Norman?)
hflathead, I didn’t even mention the dusty animal heads on the walls at Booches. How’d you know that? Does your Bradenton pool hall have copies of Jeff McNeilly’s Shoemaker comic strips on the walls too?
The BEST burgers in the world can be found in Rochester NY. There is a local chain called Bill Gray’s. You can’t argue, because their slogan is “Home of the World’s Greatest Cheesburger”! These burgers are unlike any other I have ever had, and nothing else in the world can even come close!
So many smart people here, so many wrong answers…
The best cheeseburger without a doubt comes from Dotty’s Dumpling Dowry on Regent St. in Madsison, Wi.
I will look into Fat Boy’s here in Pasadena. I am not familiar with it so it may be finis. In -n- Out is ok, but I don’t get all ga-ga over them like others do.
My vote is for “Mcnemany’s Hamburger Haven” (N. easton, MA). Their burgers are made with fresh-ground chuck 9or sirloin, if you pay extra). Absolutely the best on the planet. However, the place is owned by a real eccentric guy, who likes to open at odd hours (closed Sundays) and open oly till 1:00PM saturdays!

I hate to keep butting in here but I have a couple of comments about this one:
-
Dotty’s hamburgers have never thrilled me too much. I have had a few over the years but was never real impressed, especially for the price. Their chili used to be pretty good many years ago though.

If you look for Dotty’s on Regent St. you won’t find it. It is off State St. now but their future there is iffy because there are plans to build an “arts district” on the block they are located on.
Brachy asked me to tell you where Fat Boy’s is/was - granted this was many, many calendars past. It was an old fashioned fast food joint [you order at a walkup window, but there were some seats inside]. They served their humongous onion rings in a brown paper bag. This wasn’t a McDonalds or Burger King or InandOut. It was located on Walnut Street. East I think. Almost or directly across from the Fuller Theological School which at that time occupied the lots on the south side of Walnut.
I will make a pilgrimage trek out to Fat Boy’s [not listed under the yellow pages] if it still exists.
Whenever I sit down with a McDonalds quarter pounder with cheese, I always relax and smile and savor it.
Anything else is a pale substitute.
