For a project, I want to be able to create a blog or webpage ( I like blogspot’s format) where I upload pictures that are geotagged and appear on the same page possibly on a map. I want to do this on the go, with small equipment. I need advice on how best to do this.
I don’t mind uploading stuff at an internet node at intervals if I can’t do it on a cell phone. I guess I’m wondering if there’s a phone out there already that lets me do what I want easily. (i.e. a phone with GPS, geotagging photo capability) or if I should just buy a GPS and a camera that allows me to geotag photos. My current equipment is a regular phone (no internet) and a Palm pilot with wi-fi.
I want to make entries and uploads as simply as possible and set it up ahead of time so I don’t need a PC to do it. I don’t want to have to muck around with the web page too much, although I might have to.
The variety of cellphones that are on the market that allow geotagging or GPS are confusing to me. I looked at Nokia’s offerings the other day, but I don’t like the fact that I can’t see the coordinates with the GPS part of the phone. Why do these manufacturers assume GPS is only for navigation and no one cares about coordinates?
Anybody heard of anyone who has done this?
