The best rock of the 1970s is actually being made in the 21st century!

“Sweden has a lot of terrific musicians, many of whom play in various kinds of death and/or black metal bands. They wear corpse paint makeup and lots of leather and they act all scary and shit and play unbelievably loud and dense music that’s meant to conjure up thoughts of demons and bad stuff and death”

The 70’s must have been different where you guys lived. Just like “That 70s SHow”, unrelated to my experiences.

I’m sure that this post (^) deserves some kind of award. Congratulations!

And then there’s Sabbath Assembly.

They re-record the psalms and hymns and songs of the Process Church of The Final Judgment, an oddball 60’s/70’s cult worshipping both God and Satan.

The first album had Jex Thoth on vocals; the second album had… Some other chick? Both albums were great, though. For fans of Coven etc.

Audrey Horne’s new album is out and they are so solidly '70s arena rock that I can’t even complete that metaphor.

Bad news: The Devil’s Blood just split up.

Good news: The long-awaited Magic Circle full-length is out.
