I usually keep my mouth shut :eek: in threads about TBBT because I don’t know WTH you all are talking about when discussing whether some gadget or other could really work but…isn’t this the first show where one of them (Leonard) wasn’t wearing a longsleeve under his tee shirt? To me that’s why Leonard looked weird. It struck me because it wasn’t too long ago that I mentioned to my husband that they always wear two shirts. (If not a jacket.)
Sheldon always wears two shirts, often with the Green Lantern or Flash insignia.
Leonard usually wears a zip jacket.
Howard always wears turtlenecks, tight jeans, in clashing colours, and a small alien badge.
Raj usually wears a jacket and sweater vest.
Leonard occasionally dresses up nice for a date with Penny. This was the first time Sheldon had on a suit that didn’t look like something Elmer Fudd would wear.
The thing Howard wears is called a “dickey.” It’s just a turtleneck collar under his regular shirt. Like hip-hugger jeans and belts with big buckles, dickies were all the rage in the late '60s/early '70s. Howard looks like he just wandered in off the set of “The Partridge Family.”

I think Leonard was wearing just a T-shirt because he wanted to show off his muscles after working out during the mid-season hiatus.
I don’t know if it makes a huge difference, but doesn’t she also work as a bartender sometimes?
At the Cheesecake Factory, yeah.
Do those actually have bars in real life? I’ve never been to (or even seen one) in real life, but it doesn’t sound like the sort of place that would to me.
I would think one could make a living waiting tables at the Cheesecake Factory, especially if you’re as attractive as Penny. I know full time servers who make a living working at less pricey, alcohol-free establishments.
Oh yeah, she could easily pull it off if she flirted enough and showed sufficient cleavage. Assuming the rent is $1500/month, she could clear that with tips, no problem. Don’t forget that she doesn’t have to buy food. She can eat at work and mooch dinner off the guys. And she’s perpetually behind in all her consumer debts and obligations, and drives a piece of shit car. So all her money goes for rent and alcohol. It’s doable. Just barely, but doable.
