I just heard about this big-ass cat from China on the Tonight Show. Damn thing weighs 33 pounds! Here is the story and the photos. According to its owner, it eats SIX POUNDS of meat a day!
Catzilla!
That looks more like a cat-ball. I don’t know if I could steadily consume six pounds of meat daily. Maybe that’s the diet according to Chairman Meow?
That is a big cat. Its waist is almost as big as mine. Did anyone else laugh at the captions? They have all these little tidbits at the bottom about fat cats below each photo. Then you get to photo six, and they seem to have ran out of stuff to write, and it just says click for more photos. Then after that there are no captions. It was funny to me.

And I thought our cat was a lard-ass. In the 4th picture, that thing looks like it’s about to burst.
Well, I’d say that the owner is an asshole for letting that cat get so porky. Not good for the poor fella. Diet time methinks.
That cat looks a lot like Mutu from “Whispers of the Heart” and “The Cat Returns”.
That cat needs to hang around a leaking nuclear power plant.
All I could think of what how irresponsible the owner is for feeding him so much. Not doing the cat any favors.
Aww, poor kitty. Really, no cat needs 6 pounds of meat each day.
Imagine the litter box!
And here I thought my former cat was fat. Poor critter.
Aww, poor kitty. Really, no cat needs 6 pounds of meat each day.
Imagine the litter box!
I’m trying not to, but you keep reminding me.
I agree-- it’s a form of cruelty. It strikes me that the owner must have encouraged the obesity because they thought it was amusing, or maybe hoped to get the kind of attention the media is giving him.
Ok then DON’T imagine a litter box filled with 6 pounds of meaty poop every day.
And, pretend I know how to avoid double posting. :smack:
People are always amused by fat cats and other animals but its really a form of…not abuse really but something. You don’t feed a cat until it gets that big. They can and will die of the same things fat people die of.
put of curiosity let’s say you started feeding that cat normal portions. Would it go apeshit? Would it die from the huge calorie drop, or just get by on it’s fat.
I’ve seen shows on TV where people lose a large amount of weight, and are then left with large “bags” where the skin was stretched so much. Would the same thing happen to this cat if it lost a large amount of weight?
That’s nothing. I work at a vet clinic and about a month ago a lady brought in a 46.5 lb cat (hospitalized for liver issues, can you believe it?) The world record is 47 lbs. He was as wide as the exam table and could barely walk. Very sad.
