“The first conflict that the men of Jefferson Barracks were involved with was the blah blah blah in 1832. Troops were deployed from Jefferson Barracks to push “hostile Indians” back into their village in present day Iowa. Chief Black Hawk was captured and brought back to Jefferson Barracks.”
Perhaps blah blah blah is the Native American name for the battle, like Bull Run vs. Manassas. Any other ideas?
That can’t be it. Nowhere in the article is it referred to as "blah blah blah’ or “the blah blah blah war,” and it certainly doesn’t have a citation for such an alternate name.
Maybe it wasn’t a war at all, maybe it was a TV show, a Gershiwn song, or an album.
This whole thing reminds me too much of an old Brother Dave Gardner bit where one of his regular characters (Bubba maybe) took an automatic transmission car out for a drive and, since he didn’t really understand “them funny letters on the steering wheel,” proceeded to do major damage to the vehicle.
When whoever it was that had loaned the car to Bubba asked what had happened to his fine new autymobile (sic), Bubba just said, “I broke it.”
